The Sound of Stheart® ((The First Decade))
Make a post on myspace, load up a car with bins of merch, call up some friends and head to every local venue in metro Detroit. The energy was raw, unfucked by corporations, and free of the algorithm. Bands like Fordirelifesake and Chiodos were inspiring a new generation of post-hardcore in Michigan. With the internet connecting us to a bigger part of the scene, the midwest was exploding. This is a look back at some of the bands/moments that were a part of our journey through the first decade (2005-2015).
Shoutout to the Hayloft, the Ritz, Static Age, Myspace Cafe, Skateland West, Modern Skate, The Modern Exchange, countless VFW halls, and any other venue that let us share a small space.
